meme #3 - truth, skip, or flip

truth skip or flip

Welcome to [personal profile] adventuresociety's third pre-game meme!

This game is pretty straightforward: post your character's name and other characters can ask them a question. Then, they can choose to answer truthfully, skip the question, or flip the question back at the asker. Easy peasy!

The usual disclaimer: memes are just for fun/voice testing and should not be considered game canon/in-game knowledge unless a player explicitly says it's okay for another character to know the information learned here.

I did, you shouldn't expose your hair to harmful chemicals.

Yes, yes! That’s precisely right. Are you familiar with the Lynx For Men creed?

I am not. What is it exactly?

It’s about living authentically, having fun while being yourself, being sincere with others and accepting one’s own truth. Smelling fresh and of course manscaping.

Resist corporate-led beauty ideals marketed as body positivity. They're just trying to sell you something and prey upon people's insecurities. Not everyone "manscapes", body hair is completely normal no matter how you decide to groom yourself.

Manscaping option 1 in the Lynx For Men Lifestyle is not to manscape at all, which ties back into living authentically and having fun while being yourself.

But it doesn’t matter anymore. Ms. Sharona said that Lynx/Axe smells like locker room beef. So now I am back to having no Lifestyle whatsoever.

If it makes you feel any better, there's nothing authentic about a corporate shill telling you how to live authentically.

Have you thought about determining your own lifestyle, instead of letting Unilever tell you? What smells good to you?

That doesn’t make me feel better. It makes me feel like I’m being lectured by someone with a rich father. But thank you for the thought.

I usually have a master telling me what to do. I thought choosing the Lynx For Men Lifestyle would be a refreshing alternative, but evidently that is not the case. I haven’t smelled anything in about 30 years, so it’s hard to say what I like.

Well, fuck me. You're not wrong and I despise the implication.

I'm sorry for criticizing it, then. You just deserve better is all. Have you noticed anyone else's smell, or something that smells good to you lately?

Oh, no thank you. I lack a suitable corporeal form at the moment so we cannot fuck. I am a knife and that will not be pleasant for you. But thank you very much for the offer.

The last thing I smelled that I thought was nice was Mariah Carey’s personal fragrance. Did you know I once met her? She called me “spectacular, baby.” Although I am not a baby. I wonder what she meant by that.

That wasn't...sure. Thank you for thinking of me and my comfort, I would in fact like to retain any appendages.

You met Mariah Carey?
coolknife: (🔪 023)

[personal profile] coolknife 2024-01-08 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, most people do. And it’s no problem at all. While you are distracted by balls I will continue to carefully and ardently look out for you and your appendages.

Why, yes. I have. It was the year 1990, at a listening party for “Visions of Love.” My master at the time, one Mr. Bateman, received an invitation through his colleague Mr. Paul Allen.

I'm not dist Wonderful, I appreciate the loyalty and ardent care for my appendages.

Wait, sorry. Do you mean you met Mariah Carey at a screening of American Psycho?

[personal profile] coolknife 2024-01-08 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
What’s American Psycho?
abracadavers: (079)

[personal profile] abracadavers 2024-01-08 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Patrick Bateman. Paul Allen. Those are characters in the novel, American Psycho which was turned into a cult classic film starring Christian Bale. That's what you were referring to, right?
coolknife: (🔪 025)

[personal profile] coolknife 2024-01-08 09:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Strange. Patrick Bateman was my master. He wanted vengeance against Paul Allen. Which at first did not strike me as righteous, but I thought about it for a while and it did seem just to extinguish a corporate vulture. But we never got around to it because he threw me in the Hudson. […] :)

[personal profile] abracadavers 2024-01-09 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
[...] Is this like a performance art piece?
coolknife: (🔪 036)

[personal profile] coolknife 2024-01-09 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Possibly toward the end? Maybe Patrick throwing me into the Hudson was performance art on his part, and he now regrets it. I’m not sure if I would go back to him, though. He didn’t snack at all.
