hello, i'm megan and i think migraines are a bitch. also, i'm playing timmy balik & noel baxter.

timmy's got that whole gruff exterior, possibly softer interior thing going on, but he's also got a massive resting bitch face that makes it easy to keep people from actually getting past the gruff exterior. he's a cubi (succubus/incubus). he comes off as (or maybe just is) a dick, but one with a strong sense of morals, at least? he's a bodyguard in the action department. basc, he's the muscle, or the brawn, but not really the brain. he's stubborn as hell — usually even when he's wrong. he's honest, but to the point of being blunt.

noel, on the other hand, is... chill. she's happiest curled up with a good book, or bingeing a new tv show, or holed up in her workshop crafting the finest blades you've ever seen. but she's also the girl throwing salt over her shoulder, knocking on wood, and never stepping on a crack that will break her mother's back. she lies easily and often, as often as it suits her, but it's often not to be a dick, but to avoid the consequences of the truth. it's selfish, yes, but it's not vindictive. she's a pessimist who's just as messy with her belongings as she is with her feelings.

hi everyone! I’m Caroline and this is my first game on Dreamwidth, though I think I’ve played with a lot of you before. Super excited to be here!

Ophelia can come off as a space cadet. She'll zone out while staring at a wall, or her eyes will lose focus in the middle of a conversation. People who don't understand a banshee's nature just think she has a short attention span, and she doesn't usually bother to explain.

She's not someone who is bothered by what most people may think of her, since she's very comfortable being alone. Though a big goal of hers is to form lasting relationships, so she is doing her best to seem cheerful, approachable, and kind. When she focuses she can be a great listener, and while she's known to point out what she thinks are obvious solutions, she doesn't take on other people's problems in a busy-body way. She's also not a gossip -- she may listen to whatever you have to say, but that doesn't mean she'll say much in return.

hello! i'm elle (i used to go by a different alias so some of you know me, but i figured it's time for a change with 2024 coming up.) like a lot of us, this is my first game on dw, so please bear with me as i figure it all out! wishing every a very happy new year!

i've got just the one for right now (but another is probably on the way~) this is rafael, you can call him rafe, and he's behind the legend of the chupacabra. hailing from puerto rico, he was a wolf shifter who was placed under a demonic curse by a witch, turning him into the monster he is today. for years, he wrecked havoc on his village's livestock, then ran away when he was found out. eventually, he made his way up north and landed a job as a chef at the adventure society. he's quite talented, so if you need some grub, he's your man! rafe is a bit rough around the edges because of the life he's had, but for the most part, he's pretty cool and not one to shit stir. he's just here to cook and let cook.

i've got one connection for him, but i'm happy to work out another one if anyone wants to throw it at me. otherwise, i'm always down to brainstorm. i'm super excited to get started and write with everyone! this game looks so fun!

Hiiiii this is Tiff! I have two:

Byron Best wizardjr is the Head of Spell Creation (he's a little spell inventing wunderkind), the son of the Head Wizard (he's also a little nepo baby), and generally a dork. He is a wizard and also (secretly!) a werewolf. His bonus ability is power bestowal. Basically, if you need a little bit of extra magic for one of your adventures, you can visit him and he'll hook you up (eg. maybe you need a necklace that will help you breathe underwater, etc). He's better at magic than he is at people. His older brother is Broderick, abracadavers! They're Welsh and possibly/probably not direct descendants of Merlin himself.

Hyacinthe Bellemare horseboi is your resident Horse Therapist, and he's only going to discover that that doesn't mean what he thinks it means when he actually arrives here. He is a centuries-old immortal unicorn posing as a Normal Human Man because those pesky humans keep trying to kill him and drink his blood in order to live forever. His bonus power is wish granting, but he's probably not going to tell anyone about it very much since then they'll never leave him alone. Other helpful powers he's keeping quiet about are healing, protective magic, and water purification. He can only be tamed by the pure of heart, but maybe that's you... ? He insists that he is a Celestial Being, not a horse*.

*but also if he sees a snake on a path, it's going to spook him real bad.

hello from the tail-end of 2023! i'm gia, and i recognise many of you! happy to see familiar faces and pleased to meet all those i don't yet know! this is my second game on dw and i am s l o w l y getting the hang of things (sort of) (maybe).

for now, i have two characters!

elias hawthorne slate - 149 year old dhampir just past his prime~. son of an old af witch and an older, vampire-hating vampire, he went against the family business (hunting things for the sake of hunting things) to find his own path by saving people and.... hunting things and basically witchering his way through life by tracking/hunting only if the mark is an ongoing threat to others. (does this apply to vampires? maybe. maybe not. his lines are pretty blurred and he takes commissions on a case by case basis.) he can be quite sarcastic, but overall is patient (or tries to give the appearance of being so!) and while team working will be a novel thing for him, he's an acts of service kinda guy. also: a horse girl kinda guy. the stetson is there to shield his eyes from the brightest of daylight.

catch seaver frankenslut - a relatively newly formed revenant. he was a normie whose death was orchestrated by the circle of magic-users he ran with at oxford so that he could be brought back again. not a zombie - his bite won't infect anyone - but does require, yes, a regular supply of 🧠s for his continued existence. he's only been undeaded for two years, so much of this world is !!new!! to him, but for obvious reasons, the shine has kind of been lost, though the adventure society presents an opportunity to both hide from the necromancer who made him and learn more about the supernatural world. i think he's going to either come across grumpier than he actually is, or just be a self-conscious ball of morbs-y energy... or both! he'll be working security and i'm going to stick him in one of the double rooms, so if you'd like a roomie who never has to sleep, hit me up!

hello!!! i'm kas and i'm very excited!!!

bracken hemming will be the beast wrangler!! he's a werewolf whose size is proportional to his capacity to have feelings (which is why he's a Very Large Man). he started out as a hereditary werewolf cowboy in wyoming before he and his twin (briar!) were cast out. then they fell out. then he spent six years as a wolf. it kind of messed him up. he says he's fine now! just a little feral! he relies more on hearing and smell than is strictly polite. he likes animals and eating and not being inside and not doing math.

he's not the best with initial social interactions so i can't promise he'll start out on the right foot lmao. he'll be much nicer on the network, and hopefully(?????) in person once he settles in. he seems like a shut-in curmudgeon lonerboy until you realize he spends most of his nights at clubs and sports bars. he's likely to slut around, mostly @ guys, and so i apologize in advance.

& ten years ago, footage of his first shift back to human after his Wolf Era leaked and went viral. it was posted as a ~totally real werewolf vid~ and then ~branded as a hoax~ but iykyk.

Adrian Flyte dragonhoard (knowledge/head archivist) is the son of the dragon mob boss who runs las vegas's finest supernatural casinos, as well as its criminal information broker network. he is an incredibly sheltered nepo baby who has very little idea of how the real world works and isn't very good at interacting with other people. apologies in advance for him if he's horribly rude to you, he's just stupid.

he knows Marin's Velvet Vespertine (his politically arranged fiancée and the daughter of a frenemy crime family) and he's roomies with Lyss's Cyprien du Voy

Birdie Featheringham @ embiggenment (hq/event planner) is a mischievous pixie who has been long obsessed with human life & social dramas, but has never been able to participate due to being three inches tall. that all changes today, because her bonus ability is size-shifting, and she's a normal human height (five feet zero inches exactly)! she is in charge of event planning and is going to be a huge busybody and gossip. if you ever need someone to instigate shit she is here for you.

she knows Alex's Bowdrie Fenn (trapped her in a saltshaker for a few months, nemesis) and Sam's Bob Cratchit (catfished him on the internet and is now being unduly mean to him to obscure the nature of her crimes). she needs a roommate!

i'm hosting a huge party tonight and i have a deadline on the fifth so idk how much i'm going to be around for intros (and to be honest i find intros intimidating even when there aren't 30 new character sdflksfsd lmao) and i might not get around to commenting everybody, but i'm happy to just throw characters together ic/on memes and see how they mesh!

sharona carter whywolves was bitten by a werewolf ten years ago while she was on a camping trip in the pnw. she's generally good natured and tries very hard to do well by others. she simultaneously craves human connection while also keeping people at a distance. she's still getting the hang of being a werewolf and doesn't know much about other supernatural beings. she'll be working at the convenience store, so it's likely all of yours will run into her sooner rather than later.

beatrice bailey beelzebug is the demon formally known as beelzebub. which is to say DO NOT TRUST HER SHE IS A FUGLY SLUT. she will probably try to pass off as a Not Demon for a hot minute. she will be working as a massage therapist, where she'll utilize her control of bugs for a good time. snail masks that cut out the middle man! wasp acupuncture! i know bugs can be a trigger for some, so please let me know if any bugs in particular give you the heebie jeebies so i can be extra considerate with any cut tags.

Hi! This is Michelle and I'm excited to play with people I both recognize and newcomers! This is, quite legitimately, my first game on DW ever so please ignore me blindly looking around for all the options and being wowed at what simple coding upgrades could have done.

Dora ohrightlol is an old (how old? you'll find out!) vampire that doesn't look it, or really act it all that much on the surface. Her main tells are the vast amount of historical trivia she trots out at random and also the fact that while she's enthusiastic, extroverted, and likes to gossip and be involved she's pretty distant at the end of the day. Yeah, she wants to hear about your break-up, but she's not all that bothered or phased by it. So, she's also unflappable. She's also a mission dispatcher for HQ and she tends to be very distracted gossiping, playing games on her phone, texting whoever, and can forget details. Basically if you want your mission to go awry or have an extra kink in it, let me know and we'll work out what she forgot. Otherwise, hello fellow immortals, vampires, and gossips! Her extra power in additional to her vampiric ones is the ability to glean bits of topical information about inanimate objects she's holding. It can be either helpful, or absolutely useless, and it's a crapshoot. Look, sometimes facts are facts and it's not her fault if that doesn't help you!

Velvet Vespertine halfnight (action/swordfighter) is a dhampir who hails from a vampire crime family (they run a supernatural luxury hotel chain and also an extensive smuggling operation). She's young and sheltered but has great ambitions, and is here at the Adventure Society in hopes of proving herself worthy of being turned into a full vampire and joining her father's criminal empire. Having been raised by evil vampires, Velvet is extremely on some bullshit, but forgive her, she's only 21.

She's engaged to Adrian Flyte as a political arrangement between two Las Vegas supernatural crime families.

Leith Sinclair sealoch (healing/nurse aide) is an each-uisge (Scottish fae water horse) who's spent the past century trying to be human because he feels guilty for drowning and eating his last rider. He's Not Great at it but he's going to do his best to seem like a normal nice human man anyway. He once went to medical school in London in 1923 but dropped out due to stress, but that's FINE because the Adventure Society gave him the ability to heal now, with or without any medical training. Let him help you 🐎 don't question how the healing works 🐎🐎

His last rider was Cyprien du Voy, whom he does NOT know is still alive, and he had an awkward friend breakup with Cyprien's sister, Charlotte Fairhaven, about 20 years ago.

Hello everyone, I'm Meggie! I've played with some of you, while others are new faces.

Curio is a demon who is bound to the HQ building, passively powering all of the magic that makes it function. He's been sleeping for who-knows-how-long, but was recently awoken during some routine maintenance. He has no memories of how he got into this situation, or what his real name/form is. Because having a bored, potentially dangerous demon running amok would be inconvenient, he's been given a job to keep him busy. Curio's incorporeal and can only be seen in reflective surfaces, but he has other ways of interacting with the world.

Curio's housekeeping services are opt-in, because once you allow Curio to enter your space, he can enter it whenever he wants without permission. As a demon, he has a proclivity to mess with people, but is generally harmless. Whatever trap he got caught in makes him loyal to the society and whatever its leader tells him.

I need to put together a list of who has and hasn't agreed to housekeeping eventually, so if you could let me know about your characters that'd be great. The general assumption is that if you haven't said yes, I'm going to assume it's a no until told otherwise.

This is Yves Legrand, who's been hired by the Society as a 'diplomat'. (This means he's a spy, but in the flirty, well-dressed 'shaken not stirred' kind of way, not the subtle 'cat burglar in the air ducts' sort of way.) He's old money Monegasque from Monte Carlo, part of a minor aristocratic family that goes way way way back. On the surface he is a bit of an idle, callow socialite. Secretly he is an undine, which is like a fancy mermaid. He is the product of his family's centuries-long pact with the Fée... and also a bit of an idle, callow socialite. (He's only 35 and the gravitas of immortality hasn't really sunk in yet.) Yves is hoping this new job will be fun and will get grand-maman off his back.

Here is Cyrpien du Voy! He's not a ghost. He is though a disembodied spirit and not technically dead! He's French and grew up as a spoiled but forgotten third son with a sister (Charlotte!) who taught him about the occult. He also had a beloved horse named Blancmange who would never, ever bring him harm. Except for the day when he brought him big harm, but haha! Whatever! He sort of floated around for over a century after he was suddenly parted from his body, and many hauntings from Paris were actually Cyprien. He finally floated to his sister at their family home and now they're here and he's a spy. He does not know his formerly horse is also here. He's sensitive and loving but bored and prone to languish, which to be fair is all he could really do for a while. He has a roommate in Adrian Flyte and his pre-game connex are his sister and his horse, but if you need him to haunt anyone in particular I'm open! Otherwise I'll just throw him at people I am sure. I'm so excited!

Hi! It's Lyss and I'm back with one more at the squeakiest last minute. Here's Tree Amoss! She's a dryad from Olympic National Park forest in Washington, where she was sprouted years and years ago now. She was curious, she wandered out to live among the mortals and became so good at it that when environmental concerns (boo) came to threaten the forest, her dryad sisters all but banished her to roam the mortal world forever, because if she never is able to be destroyed, the forest will also never be destroyed. So it's a bit of a mixed bag, but she's spent a good century roaming around. Tree has a pack of nymphs she travels in and out with, so if you'd like to have encountered them on your travels, go for it. She's coming to Toronto to consult with magicians on more sustainable ways to keep her forest safe, and also do tattoos because she loves art, which is how she's been able to sustain her lifestyle in somewhere not her home for so long. She's a little detached and aloof, artsy but likes people overall. She's in Creativity as a tattoo artist, so please come get your protection enchantments prior to going out to action gigs, because she can do that. She knows Kitty's incoming Peony, but no one else yet. Expect initial cool stares but overall perhaps friends! That's all! Ah!

Oops, I am hungover and late to this party! Happy New Year! I'm Jill for those I haven't been able to chat with yet, and I also haven't rped in a few years :) I have:

Broderick Best abracadavers: Head Librarian, eldest son of the Head Wizard (who he despises) and older brother of Byron (who he loves and is a bit overprotective of). Historian and professor by trade, he's accepted the Head Librarian position while on sabbatical because he doesn't trust his father's involvement in anything, and he's an easy slut for new knowledge. A talented Medium (necromancer), Broderick summons/ banishes/convenes spirits on the regular, which is helpful for your research needs, as much as his. He's known for being brash, having loud opinions about things, having amazing hair, and caring too much about everything. He can come off as a long-suffering, sarcastic know-it-all dickhead, but he's very sociable and turns pretty much anyone into family (whether you like it or not). His husband died 2 years ago and he uses his powers to talk to him sometimes (no one knows), which is a super healthy way of moving on for sure.

Darcy lepreconned A leprechaun of the Unseelie court who was banished for being terrible at her job as she's lazy, unfazed, and just kept giving free gold away, while and also being generally disrespectful of Court authority, protocols and secrets. She's a fuck up in general so this was a long time coming, but she cringefailed her way to NYC where she's been for the last 100 years, getting her sweet revenge by popularizing the monsterfucker genre of romance books (embarrassing some old Court blowhards by writing them in) and becoming a quite prominent author by accident. She also now runs a popular supernatural podcast which I'm still figuring the details out about.

Darcy is fun, and probably knows a lot of people by virtue of her age and partying ways so I'd love some old friends, enemies or connections! She also is a pretty famous author so you may know her from her smutty books too, or even been a guest on her podcast. I have no connections for her right now so happy to chat!

he kept birdwyn featherington in a salt shaker for a bit (do you know how much money that saved him on ordering pixie dust) and his sister will arrive eventually i just need to step up my bullying game, which means everyone else is meeting him for the first time and i'm sure will immediately love him (lie).

indrid cold normalhumanperson, head armorer, alien goo from antarctica, formerly of the men in black. he stares a lot, either deep in thought or observing people and their behaviors, still has not learned enough to know how to really pass as a human. awkward and stilted bc he prefers telepathic conversation but he can only do that with other telepaths so sometimes he doesn't know how to word things. real anal son of a bitch in the armory, ready to perform hourly inventories and asking you to fill out paperwork in triplicate. he's freak friends/roommates with mothman after adventures in acid and space in the 60s.

Hi I'm Megtoo and I missed all the pre-game plotting because I got Overwhelmed by Things but now December is over and I'm here! I'll have a second one coming, but we'll start with one:

Asher is a reformed conman witch who specializes in illusionary magic. He's also got a curse that gets worse when he acts selfishly, but he doesn't talk about all that. I don't have any connections arranged for him, but maybe he crossed your path in the world of magical crime at some point!

hi! i'm brittany and i think i've played with most of you, but for those i haven't, it's nice to meet you.

bellona is currently my one and only. fun fact: her name is actually johanna, but bellona is her recent (sixth) alias. she's a 600-year-old vampire/witch hybrid and originally from germany. she was born a dhampir, was bitten when she was twenty-four, and then killed her would-be sire. after which she was sent away and has been roaming the world, causing mischief, and learning new things as she goes. she's fairly bitchy, bloodthirsty, and pretty much what you would expect from a vampire who was turned too early. it's not obvious that she's a witch but she doesn't make a habit of hiding the fact that she's a vampire. she'll be working in the action department as a weapons expert and loves weapons of all kinds.
