Hello and welcome to
adventuresociety's second brainstorming post! Use this post to talk about your character ideas, share concept docs, look for connections (you may currently have 2 pre-existing close connections per character), pre-plot, and/or hash out whatever other OOC things you want.Please note that nothing on this post should be considered game canon until characters are accepted into the game. New apps will be processed on a rolling basis. New characters arrive ICly on May 1st and will be greeted with a welcome IC/OOC.

Maya, Head of Healing. Arrived at the very beginning. Definitely staying for the second season after doing a look over at her original app I think I am going to adjust slightly as she has been more forgiving and understanding than originally planned so "happy to hold a grudge" has gotta go in her negative traits. Has 1 open connection but person would have probably have to seem/or be human when they knew each other.
Richard/Dick, Head of Decision Making. Arrived fashionably late in late January. If ok with folks I'm thinking about adjusting the gift giving horns/halo so that it doesn't last a full week and can be handed out as "gift" on mission and whether it is the horns or the halo is dependent on who likes that person more. Has 1 open connection.
Eldith, Weapons Forger. Just arrived on the scene. Nothing is changing. Has 2 open connections.
CHARACTERS IN DEVELOPMENT:
1. One of Byron’s “Rivals” from School. Actually thinks of Byron as one of her best friends. The only way one become a better inventor is by pushing each other towards greatness!! PB feels like it should be Maya Hawke. Thinking she'd be in knowledge department as a magical Mineralogist.
2. A pegasus. EITHER from QF (sent by Aciano) or snowglobed.

Don't worry about them, they're all returning to their home planet. My brain took a BIG ol poop in March and I haven't been able to snap it back into place, but I love all y'all and the vibe so I'm gonna try and reboot with an old reliable archetype (the sad gay).
So IN DEVELOPMENT:
Currently plodding away at a new boy, tentatively named Rakesh, with Utkarsh Ambudkar face. He's a healing lad and biomed scientist who used to work for idk Some Mad Scientist or Evil Government, up until he had a lab accident. Now he's weird!
His two connections are reserved atm, but hopefully he'll be a weird anxious social boy when I'm done with him and will bother everyone. Please come watch him beatbox at the open mic in town, guys.

Uhhh hello! Life got away from me, but I want to come back for season 2.
Curio is staying, and who knows what the fuck he's been doing for the last couple months. I'm sure it was very important (to him). I'd love to do a little catching up with his friends and stuff, and just generally reintroduce him to the game. ♥

I'm going to be making Spring-heeled Jack, a cryptidy sort of Victorian menace who got into trouble recently for criminal tomfoolery, and now has to do community service. He'll be in the action department. I have no connections for him yet, but he's been around for a long time causing problems on purpose.

IN DEVELOPMENT: DELPHINE DESJARDINS, curse breaker (knowledge & healing). over-achieving angry gorl with a lot to prove!!!! she makes bad decisions when emotional (= always!) so her life's a mess, and she wants to ignore it by getting involved in everyone else's problems! she's still being planned out. she's got a connection in kitty's girl and one more open~

Byron, current Head Wizard (HQ). Wizard/Werewolf/Aspiring PhD haver—which is worst? He's sticking around for now because Broderick is here and he only feels alive when he has a big, potentially dangerous puzzle box to solve. He doesn't have any open connections (Broderick + Jessie's new gal are his) but I'm open to making new ones! I'm especially hoping he can maybe make some more friends closer to his own age?
Hyacinthe, Healer (Healing Dept). Unicorn. He likes feeling useful but he's lonely and I might just write him out (undecided yet!) because I'm not sure what to do with him. He has 1 connection open (other one is Darcy).
CHARACTERS IN DEVELOPMENT:
ELF BOI TBD (Action/Wrangler) - Newt Scamander/Crocodile Hunter zoologist/adventurer type dude that travels the world writing about fantastic beasties and promoting their conservation. He'll be joining in search of newer and even more fantastical creatures. His 2 connections are open.
OTHER BOI TBD (Knowledge/Head Archivist) - I just love a persnickety little guy what can I say? He's from QF. I still need to decide what kind of creature he is when my brain is functional again. 1 connection open.
I might do one or both of these idek (it also kind of hinges on whether I keep Hy or not)

she is extremely lacking in the common sense department, extremely persistent in her attempts to make something out of her communications degree and is extremely lucky to have chronomancy as an ability because she's going to make so many mistakes when she starts phasing oops

Leeds (HQ) who is the Jersey Devil and in charge of room/event-catering in the AS Kitchens. He is an awkward lil guy who is the latest star of a steamy romance/smut novel by fellow adventurer Darcy and is #suffering from success aka doesn't know how to deal with fans and living up to being a ~leading man~ He is baby.
Barbie is going to go out into the world and learn more about what it means to be alive. Good luck, Barbie!
S2 CHARACTERS:
Head of Security (HQ) who may or may not be Henry Golding. He drank from the fountain of youth. Don't ask him where it is, the land was different back then. Has lived many many lives, mostly as a mercenary for fun.
Valkyrie (Action) kinda wanna do a valkyrie who is SO DAMN TIRED of waiting for ragnarok but what can you do?

anyway, just one guy for now: tentatively named wycliff wayward, he's a magician from regency england who will be accidentally time-travelling directly to the adventure society in the present day as season 2 picks up. he's a little uptight and thinks very highly of himself and will be deeply embarrassed to admit he has no idea what's going on or how phones work. stop perceiving him!!! i'm holding one connection slot open for a possible rin char but the other is free atm!
if i get my feet under me i probably will also want a girl at some point so if anyone has wanted lines i'd love to hear them!! maybe something will grab me

I definitely said and definitely meant I can't pick up a third character at this time, but it's possible I've got a sliver of an idea bouncing around I'm going to play with. Something ancient and unearthed by curious and/or careless archaeologists or ghost hunters or something. Not a mummy but like, mummy vibes. Maybe. This idea is only 15 minutes old, so we'll see.

DROPPING: Adzuki Yamashita, Creativity. :( I like her a lot but she's just too childish so it feels like playing a teenager in an adult game pasndgpias so I'm going to release her back into the wilds of my brain.
IN DEVELOPMENT:
(VERY much in development so all I have are the broad strokes here, but):
1) A gargoyle girl who will be late 20s/early 30s, and will be coming in with a cousin that is a Jackie character. She will be very social. Literally have no idea of what I'm going to do as a job for her.
2) Probably going to come back to my Dullahan concept that I almost did at the beginning of the game! He'll have a connection with JJ's dude (😘) but will have one open!! Also open to job stuff for him, originally he was Knowledge but I'll probably sort of look around and see what's needed.
